Find answers to common questions about SIM registration, mobile network prefixes, CNIC verification, and more.
What does this website do?
This website provides a SIM lookup tool that retrieves publicly available SIM owner details including name, CNIC, and address for Pakistani mobile numbers. It also identifies mobile network operators from number prefixes and offers educational guides about SIM registration, CNIC verification, and protecting your identity from SIM misuse.
Can I find out who owns a mobile number?
Yes. Our lookup tool can retrieve publicly available SIM owner details including the registered name, CNIC, and address for any Pakistani mobile number. Simply enter the number in the lookup tool and the system will return the owner information from the operator database.
What is SIM registration in Pakistan?
SIM registration is the mandatory process of linking every active SIM card to a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). Since 2014, all SIMs must be activated through biometric fingerprint verification at an authorized point of sale. This system is managed by PTA and NADRA to ensure security and accountability.
How do Pakistani mobile number prefixes work?
Every Pakistani mobile number starts with 03XX (e.g., 0300, 0310, 0340). The first four digits after 0 constitute the prefix, which indicates the original network allocation. For example, 0300-0309 and 0320-0325 are Jazz prefixes, 0310-0319 are Zong, 0330-0339 are Ufone, 0340-0349 are Telenor, and 0355-0356 are SCOM.
What is Mobile Number Portability (MNP)?
Mobile Number Portability allows subscribers to switch from one network operator to another while keeping their existing phone number. This means a number that originally belonged to one operator may now be active on a different network. Our prefix-based tool shows the original allocation, not necessarily the current carrier.
How can I check how many SIMs are registered on my CNIC?
Dial *668# from any mobile phone in Pakistan to receive an SMS listing your registered SIMs. You can also visit the PTA SIM Information System at https://cnic.pta.gov.pk and enter your CNIC number for a detailed list. Both methods are free and official.
What should I do if I find unauthorized SIMs on my CNIC?
If you discover SIMs registered on your CNIC that you did not authorize, contact your mobile network operator's helpline immediately to block those SIMs. You should also visit the nearest NADRA center or operator franchise to file a formal complaint. For detailed steps, see our guide on reporting unauthorized SIM registrations.
How many SIMs can be registered on one CNIC?
As per PTA regulations, a maximum of 5 SIMs can be registered on a single CNIC across all operators. However, this limit may be subject to change by PTA. For the current limit, please refer to official PTA announcements.
What is biometric SIM verification?
Biometric SIM verification is a NADRA-managed system that uses fingerprint scanning to verify your identity before a SIM can be activated. When you purchase a new SIM, the retailer scans your fingerprints using a NADRA BVS device, which checks your identity against the national database in real time before activating the SIM.
Is this website affiliated with PTA, NADRA, or any mobile operator?
No. This website is an independent informational platform and is not affiliated, associated, endorsed by, or officially connected with PTA, NADRA, or any mobile network operator (Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, SCOM).
Do you store the phone numbers I look up?
No. Phone numbers entered into the lookup tool are transmitted securely to our upstream provider for processing and are not stored, logged, or retained beyond the immediate request. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Is the network information always accurate?
Our prefix database is based on official network allocations from PTA and is regularly reviewed. However, due to Mobile Number Portability, the carrier indicated by the prefix may not be the current carrier. For real-time carrier verification, please contact the operator directly or use official PTA services.
What formats can I use to enter a phone number?
You can enter numbers in several formats: 03001234567 (11 digits), +923001234567 (international), 00923001234567, 0300-1234567 (with dash), or 0300 1234567 (with space). The system automatically normalizes these formats for processing.
Can I use this service for commercial purposes?
This service is provided for personal, non-commercial use. Commercial exploitation, including automated querying, scraping, or resale of the data, is strictly prohibited without our written consent.
How can I protect my CNIC from unauthorized SIM registration?
Never share your CNIC details, photographs, or fingerprints with unverified third parties. Only purchase SIMs from authorized operator franchises. Regularly check your SIM count using *668# or the PTA web portal. If you find unauthorized SIMs, report them immediately. For more tips, see our guide on protecting your CNIC from SIM misuse.
What is the difference between on-net and off-net calls?
On-net calls are calls made between numbers on the same network (e.g., Jazz to Jazz), while off-net calls are made between different networks (e.g., Jazz to Telenor). On-net calls are typically cheaper or included in packages. Our network identification tool can help you determine whether a number is likely on the same network as yours.
