Pakistan has five major mobile network operators serving over 190 million subscribers. Each operator has a unique set of number prefixes originally allocated by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
Formerly Mobilink and Warid, Jazz is Pakistan's largest mobile network operator.
Zong is Pakistan's first 3G and 4G operator, owned by China Mobile.
Telenor Pakistan is a leading mobile operator with a strong focus on digital inclusion.
Ufone is a Pakistani mobile network operator owned by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).
Special Communications Organization (SCOM) provides mobile services in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Mobile Number Portability (MNP) was introduced in Pakistan in 2007, allowing subscribers to switch operators while keeping their existing phone number. This means the prefix of a mobile number only indicates the original network that was allocated that prefix, not necessarily the current operator.
If you need to know the current operator for a specific number, use the PTA SIM Information System by dialing *668# from any mobile phone, or visit the official PTA website.
Important: The network information provided on this site is based on prefix allocation data and may not reflect the current carrier due to MNP. Always verify through official channels for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
SIM cards in Pakistan must be registered against a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) as per PTA regulations. The registration process involves biometric verification at authorized sales centers of mobile operators.
Each CNIC can have a limited number of SIMs registered. You can check how many SIMs are registered on your CNIC by:
*668# on any mobile phoneIf you find unauthorized SIMs registered on your CNIC, report them immediately to PTA and your nearest operator franchise. Read our guide on protecting your CNIC from SIM misuse for detailed steps.
